Harbour Bears Preschool is the longest running preschool in Larne and have been in operation for over 50 years! We are a cross-community, voluntary preschool within the harbour ward of Larne and we provide funded places for 24 pre-school children each year. All activities provided at Harbour Bears aim to provide children with the opportunity, through play and other experiences, to develop learning associated with the six areas of the preschool Curriculum as directed by the Department of Education. Harbour Bears endeavour to create a happy, safe, stimulating and positive environment in order to enable each child to develop skills to ensure a positive start to lifelong learning, regardless of race, religion, gender or disability.
Harbour Bears Preschool is managed by a committee and all parents/carers are welcome to volunteer to be become a committee member to help with decision making and fundraising.
Harbour Bears is part of the Department of Education for N.I (DENI) which enables us to offer funded places to children in their preschool year.
