We support families facing a range of issues including:
• Loneliness and isolation
• Support with everyday parenting issues
• Multiple births or several pre-school children
• Ill health or disability of a child or a parent
• First time parenting
• Struggling with mental health

All information shared is treated in the strictest confidence

Home Visiting Support

Home-visiting volunteers visit family at home weekly for two hours, offering befriending support, practical help, a listening ear and an extra pair of hands.

They are all parents, grandparents or have caring experience themselves, understand the challenges faced by families with young children and want to help. Volunteers undertake Access NI checks and full training before being carefully matched to families.

Sometime just having someone to talk to makes all the difference!

Group Support

Home Start East Antrim provide a variety of group activities in venues across Carrickfergus, Newtownabbey and Larne including:
• Support groups for new parents including baby massage
• Mums in Mind – positive mental health and well-being group for mums
• Weekly term time family groups (parent and tots style groups with smaller numbers and additional support provided for families struggling to attend groups or feeling isolated)
• Weekly family group tailored for children with additional needs
